The province has partnered with the BC First Nations Justice Council (BCFNJC) to create Indigenous justice centres throughout BC, one of which is located in the city of Merritt.

British Columbia will work with First Nations to restore legal practices and structures and increase the number of people working within the justice system under an agreement signed that aims to reduce the number of Indigenous people within the criminal justice system.
